The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC)
is the statutory body responsible for regulating the telecommunications
sector of the British Virgin Islands. We also promote the continued
development of telecommunications throughout the Virgin Islands, helping
to support a strong and well-regulated communications environment.
Our Role
The TRC is governed by the Telecommunications Act, 2006.
As the Territory's telecommunications regulator, the Commission oversees
telecommunications providers, establishes and monitors national standards,
promotes fair competition and works to protect the interests of consumers.
The Commission also advises the Premier on telecommunications policy at
the regional and international levels.

We regulate telecommunications licensees and authorization holders
to support responsible operations and compliance within the
telecommunications sector.

We work to ensure fair competition among licensees, telecommunications
network operators and telecommunications service providers.

The TRC establishes national telecommunications standards, monitors
their implementation and works to ensure compliance.

part of our regulatory responsibility.

Where appropriate, the TRC investigates certain consumer complaints
involving rates, billing and services and may facilitate relief
where necessary.
